Dear Friend:

I’m writing you today hoping that you are as excited as I am about the possibility of bringing real Change to this Country and to Montgomery County on Election Day next Tuesday.  I’m hoping that from the White House to the Courthouse you’re ready to put in one more day of work to make the difference in this election.

I’m looking for people willing to volunteer with us all day on Election Day.  You should plan on meeting us at 6AM and the Montgomery County Democratic Headquarters and staying with us till the polls close at 7:30pm.   It will be an exciting day, and there will be many moments throughout the day for you to make a real difference in the outcome of the election.  Here’s a brief outline of what your day will involve:

6AM-9AM We’ll be checking on voting precincts in our Democratic Base communities, making sure that the election officials have the voting machines up and running and that long lines are being dealt with properly.  You’ll be in touch with Board of Election Officials notifying them of any problems you see.

9AM-11AM We’ll be driving voters to the polls—those not able to get there on their own accord.

11AM-1PM We’ll be checking turnout at certain precincts to determine where our other GOTV efforts need to be focused.  Turnout counts are posted by the precinct workers at 11:00am and 4:00pm.  We’ve been checking the same precincts for years and know how many people normally have voted by 11AM.  For example, if a precinct where we need a large turnout has a very low turnout at 11AM, we’ll have our phone bankers target those specific precincts.

1pm-4pm Back to giving rides to the polls.

4pm-6pm Back to checking turnout at precincts.

6pm-7pm We’ll go back to the same precincts we checked in the morning to make sure long lines are being handled properly, and report any issues to the Board of Elections.

If you are interested in helping us out on November 4th, please email (russ_joseph@hotmail.com) or call me (937-620-3393) as soon as possible.  All of our hard work comes down to these last few hours.  Please help us turnout every possible vote for our local candidates, as well as help win the state for Obama.  I look forward to hearing from you, and seeing you at 6:00am on Tuesday!!!

Thanks!
