Please join other Young Democrats, Democrats, and other supporters of Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change tomorrow, Thursday, July 31, for a Unite for Change picnic.  The event will take place between 5:00 and 8:00 pm at Dave Hall Plaza, which is located at the intersection of Fourth and Main Streets in downtown Dayton.  Promised are activities for the kids, music, great company, and special guests.  The event is free and open to the public, and feel free to bring a salad, side dish, beverage, or dessert to share.

Three other items of importance:

  • Governor Ted Strickland will be bringing his 2008 Cornhole Tournament Tour to Dayton this Sunday, and the Montgomery County Young Democrats will be raising funds by serving beer at the event.  If you are interested in volunteering to sling suds and available between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm on Sunday, contact Dan Klco at daniel.klco@gmail.com.
  • This year’s Junior Jackass Miniature Golf outing will take place on Tuesday, August 19 at 5:30 pm at Hazzards Miniature Golf, 6240 Brandt Pike.  Admission to the Junior includes one round of miniature golf, a hot dog, and a beverage for $15 per person or $25 per family.
  • updayton, a regional effort to stimulate the growth of the creative class in the Miami Valley is conducting an online survey to learn more about what young people look for in a place to live and how well our area is doing in meeting their needs.  Please take a few moments and complete the survey, which is available here.

Finally, the next meeting of the Montgomery County Young Democrats will take place on Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 pm.

Democratically yours,
