The Montgomery County Young Democrats are affiliated with the national Democratic Party. The platform of the Democratic Party, as put forth by Democratic National Committee is as follows:

The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our nation, strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, honest government, and civil rights.

The 110th Congress and the Democratic Agenda

In 2006, the Democratic Party promised to address six important issues in Congress. Since retaking the Senate and House Democrats have worked to address these important issues.
